Uganda captain Khalid Aucho eyes African glory in Morocco
Uganda’s national football team, led by captain Khalid Aucho, is aiming to make a significant impact in the Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.
As the team embarks on its eighth appearance in the tournament, Aucho promises that Uganda is ready to challenge the best on the continent.
“It’s not an easy group. These are strong teams, and each one wants to top the group. But we also know our strengths,” Aucho shared with CAF’s official website.
Drawn into a group with Tunisia, Nigeria, and Tanzania, Uganda faces a challenging path, but Aucho, who boasts experience across African, European, and Asian clubs, is confident: “With the experience we’ve added, we will play as a unit and compete hard. It’s a tough task, but I believe we can advance to the next round.”
For Aucho and his teammates, success would mean reaching the quarterfinals or even beyond.
“Progress for us means going further than ever before. But just as important is earning respect for our discipline and team spirit.”
Uganda’s ever-supportive fans give them confidence, and Aucho assures, “We promise to fight for every ball and make you proud.”
