The regulations set forth by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) have barred the Egyptian national team from conducting training sessions at the Felix Houphouet-Boigny Stadium ahead of official matches.
Felix Houphouet-Boigny Stadium is slated to host Egypt’s national team matches during the group stage of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.
However, according to the recent directive from CAF, Egypt’s national team will exclusively train at the Jardins Botaniques Stadium throughout their participation in the Africa Cup of Nations.
No training sessions will take place at the Felix Houphouet-Boigny Stadium, the designated venue for Egypt’s group stage matches.
The Ivory Coast is set to host the tournament, commencing on January 13, 2024, and concluding on February 11 of the same month.
Egypt’s national team leads Group 2 in the qualifications for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, accompanied by the formidable teams of Ghana, Cape Verde, and Mozambique.
Earlier reports from FilGoal.com indicated that Egypt’s national team will be accommodated at the Tiama Hotel in the capital city of Abidjan during the Africa Cup of Nations.
Situated in the Plateau area of the Ivorian capital Abidjan, the Tiama Hotel offers proximity to the Felix Houphouet-Boigny Stadium, requiring only a 5-minute journey for the national team.
All of Egypt’s matches will be contested at the Felix Houphouet-Boigny Stadium, boasting a capacity of 33,000 spectators, situated in the capital city of Abidjan.
The team will need approximately 35 minutes to travel from their accommodation at the Tiama Hotel to the training facility in the Jardin Botanique complex.
