The Ghanaian U17 women’s football team, also known as the Black Maidens, received honors from the President of Ghana, John Dramani Mahama. The team, which won the bronze medal at the Under-17 World Cup in Azerbaijan, was the first African selection to reach the podium in that category. During the reception, President Mahama congratulated the team and doubled their bonus. The Black Maidens secured third place by defeating Germany 1-0 in the World Cup.
