The next few weeks are likely to be eventful within Togolese football. A week after the end of the national first division football championship, several disputes remain to be resolved for certain clubs. The Abou Ossé d’Anié club thus threatens to contact FIFA (International Association Football Federation) if its team is relegated to a lower division.
Abou Ossé did not appear on the lawn of Maranatha de Fiokpo during the last day of the championship played last Sunday. Those responsible are protesting against a decision by the Disciplinary Commission of the FTF (Togolese Football Federation) sanctioning the club after acts of violence that occurred on the Okiti pitch in Badou, during a meeting between the two teams.
“We are going to contact FIFA to denounce the mismanagement of Togolese football by Améyi and his friends. We cannot accept such decisions. Besides, during the last FIFA mission, we were not even invited,” railed Victor Atara, president of Abou Ossé, on Radio Fréquence 1 on Saturday. The club had, however, been warned in a letter two weeks earlier not to take part in the last day of the championship in these conditions.
