2025 Africa Cup of Nations: Everything supporters need to know about in Morocco

The 2025 Africa Cup of Nations will take place in Morocco from 21 December 2025 to 18 January 2026.

The tournament will be staged across six cities – Rabat, Casablanca, Tangier, Marrakech, Agadir and Fez – and nine stadiums.

Hosts Morocco will open the competition against Comoros at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat.

The full group-stage schedule and any updates are published directly by the Confederation of African Football (CAF).

Supporters can consult CAF’s official channels for match dates, venues and capacities.

For a complete overview, the AFCON 2025 Guide provides detailed information about dates, cities and stadiums, as well as transport and accommodation tips: AFCON 2025 Morocco: complete guide.

Official ticketing and the Yalla app
Tickets for the competition are being released in waves. CAF has launched the Yalla application to simplify the process.

Through Yalla, fans can manage their Fan ID (required for access to stadiums and fan zones), apply for an e-Visa where applicable, and receive practical updates directly on their devices.

CAF urges supporters to create and validate their Fan ID early, keep an eye on official announcements, and avoid unauthorized ticket resellers.

Stadium access and transport
Each host city offers different options for reaching stadiums:

  • Rabat – Prince Moulay Abdellah: tram or taxis from Agdal; Al Boraq/ONCF trains from Tangier and Casablanca.
  • Casablanca – Mohammed V: tram plus taxis; Al Boraq from Tangier and Rabat.
  • Tangier – Ibn Batouta: Al Boraq (Tangier–Rabat–Casablanca) plus bus or taxis.
  • Marrakech – Grand Stade: ONCF trains from Casablanca plus taxis or buses.
  • Agadir – Adrar: domestic or road flights plus taxis or ride-hailing services.
  • Fez – Sports Complex: ONCF trains from Rabat/Casablanca plus taxis.

Accommodation and travel tips
Supporters are advised to book hotels and transport between seven and three days before matchday.

In Casablanca, Marina and the city centre offer easy access, while Aïn Diab caters for seaside stays.

Rabat’s Agdal and Hassan areas combine convenience with culture.

Marrakech’s medina and Guéliz/Hivernage are popular for their riads, nightlife and restaurants.

Tangier, Agadir and Fez all offer beach, heritage or surf-focused stays.

For intercity travel, Morocco’s Al Boraq high-speed train connects Tangier, Kenitra, Rabat and Casablanca with frequent departures.

ONCF links Casablanca with Marrakech and Fez, while flights provide a quick route to Agadir from major hubs.

On matchdays, small taxis, VTC services and trams in Rabat and Casablanca cover the “last mile”.

Practical advice
Fans are urged to arrive at stadiums 90 minutes before kick-off to allow for Fan ID checks and security procedures.

Cashless payments are widely accepted, though carrying some cash is recommended.

Hydration and sunscreen are also advised for day matches.
