On the first day of the 2013 Beach Soccer Africa Cup of Nations (CAN) in Morocco, several exciting matches took place:
- In Group B, Ivory Coast defeated Egypt 4-1. Sakanoko (8′), David (12′, 14′), and Aka (22′) scored for Ivory Coast, while Aly (19′) scored for Egypt.
- Nigeria secured a convincing 8-4 victory over Libya. Isiaka Olawele and Emeka Ogbonna each scored hat-tricks, with additional goals from Emmanuel Kyande and Abu Azeez for the Supersand Eagles.
- In Group A, defending champion Senegal overcame Madagascar 7-4. Goals for Senegal were scored by Fall, Ng. Sylla (2), M. Syll, Koukpaki (2), and Cheikh, while Giovanni, Tiana, and Fabrice found the net for Madagascar.
- The host country, Morocco, dominated Ghana with a 9-2 victory. Nassim (3), Boulakouaba, Anas (2), El Hamidy, Gio, and Briguel scored for Morocco, while Sapper and Lawer saved the honor of Ghana’s Black Sharks.
