It’s unfortunate to hear that Abdoulaye Doucouré, the Rennes midfielder, has suffered a serious injury to his left knee, particularly rupturing the cruciate ligament. This injury occurred during a match against AC Ajaccio on the 37th day of Ligue 1.
Given the severity of the injury, Doucouré is expected to be out of competition for six months. This setback comes two years after he had previously seriously injured the same knee. The midfielder will have a meeting with a surgeon to discuss the procedure to follow, and a new operation is not excluded.
At 20 years old, Doucouré now faces a significant period of rehabilitation, and unfortunately, he will miss not only the Under-20 World Cup but also a substantial part of the next season. The rehabilitation program for his return will be developed by the club’s medical unit. It’s always tough for a player to go through such injuries, and the football community hopes for a smooth recovery for Abdoulaye Doucouré.
