Casablanca-based football powerhouse, Raja Club Athletic, revealed their financial report for the past football season until June 30, 2023, showcasing a budgetary deficit exceeding four billion dirhams.
In a comprehensive statement, the “Green Team” disclosed all financial details concerning the previous season, encompassing revenues, expenditures, as well as specifics regarding age groups and the “Eagles” academy.
Raja’s management highlighted that the revenues amounted to 111,450,413.61 million dirhams, comprising only half of the preceding cycle’s earnings, which stood at 214,487,010.32 dirhams.
The club’s board affirmed that the team’s expenses during the 2022/2023 football season reached 156,665,249.13 dirhams, indicating a decrease of 23 million dirhams compared to the preceding year.
The statement continued, noting that Raja’s budget surplus after the 2021/2022 football season was 34,142,470.76 dirhams in June 2022.
However, it transformed into a deficit of 45,214,835.52 dirhams, resulting in an overall loss of 79,357,306.28 million dirhams for the “Green Team.”
The revenue from the “Eagles,” the club’s merchandising, witnessed a 20 percent increase, rising from 1,573 million centimes in the 2021-2022 season to 2,205 million centimes.
Regarding Raja’s disputes with the Royal Moroccan Football Federation and FIFA, the financial impact reached 3,286 million centimes.
In terms of the “Green Team’s” revenues from television broadcasting rights, it reached 1,922 million centimes, compared to 3,544 million centimes in the 2021-2022 season.
It is worth noting that Raja had summoned its members to attend the supplementary general assembly for the 2022-2023 season, scheduled for January 12.
