Paul Put Takes Over at USM Alger
He was once considered to take charge of the Algerian national team following Milovan Rajevac’s departure, but Paul Put has now chosen a different path. The Belgian coach has officially signed with USM Alger, the current leader of the Algerian Ligue 1, with 19 points to their name.
According to dzfoot.com, the former Burkina Faso national team coach has committed to a two-year contract and immediately begins his work with the Algiers club. Initially close to joining CS Constantine, Put will replace Jean-Michel Cavalli and take charge on the bench for USM Alger’s next league match against USM El Harrach.
Despite their top position in the standings, USM Alger suffered a setback in their last league fixture, losing 2-1 to CA Batna. Paul Put now faces the challenge of maintaining the team’s leading position while steering the club through the rest of the season.
