Liverpool target Dayot Upamecano as replacement for Ibrahima Konate
Premier League powerhouse Liverpool have targeted France international of Guinean root, Dayot Upamecano as a potential replacement for Ibrahima Konate.
Upamecano, who is in the books of German giants Bayern Munich will see his contract run out next summer. The rock-solid defender has yet to agree a new deal with the Bundesliga out, and is free to discuss a potential pre-contract agreement with clubs when the transfer window reopens in January.
According to reports, Liverpool have expressed interest to sign Upamecano as a replacement for Konate, who could also leave the club as a free agent next summer.
Bayern Munich are keen on keeping Upamecano at the Allianz Arena. Meanwhile, efforts to tie the defender down in Germany has proved futile.
Upamecano’s salary demands has increased, and he has more power with several clubs showing an interest in his services.
Liverpool faces similar situation with Franco-Malian defender, Ibrahima Konate nearing contract expiration at the club.
