Brazilian President Dilma Rousseff inaugurated the Arena Pernambuco, a 44,000-seat stadium in Recife, which will host matches during the 2014 FIFA World Cup (June 12 to July 13). The stadium is also one of the six venues selected to host matches for the Confederations Cup, scheduled to take place from June 15 to 30, 2013. The Super Eagles of Nigeria, the reigning African champions, will participate in the Confederations Cup.
