Nigerian defender Collins Nwoburuoke denied Orlando Pirates contract after failing to impress on trials

South African giants Orlando Pirates have refused to sign Nigerian international Collins Nwoburuoke.

The 23-year-old was available on a free transfer following his departure from Nigerian outfit Abia Warriors. Nwoburuoke is said to have failed to impress officials of the Soweto giants, prompting the club’s decision not to sign the defender.

“After a few days training under the watchful eye of Abdeslam Ouaddou, Pirates decided against signing the player” Sources close to Orlando Pirates has revealed.

However, the enterprising defender has swiftly moved to fellow South African side, Durban City in an attempt to secure a permanent deal.

Meanwhile, Durban City are in action away in the Western Cape this evening, as they take on Stellenbosch FC at the Danie Craven Stadium.
