‘Our performance wasn’t great in the first half’ – Ceramica Cleopatra coach Ali Maher reacts to Al Ahly defeat

The head coach of Ceramica Cleopatra, Ali Maher, praised the efforts of his players in their defeat to Al Ahly on Friday evening but admitted that their performance in the first half was not the best.

Speaking after the narrow 1-0 loss at Cairo International Stadium, the coach said his team is determined to continue fighting to finish in the top four at the end of the 2025/26 Egyptian Premier League season.

“My team put in a great effort, and I admit that our performance wasn’t great in the first half, but we managed to reach Al Ahly’s goal after numerous attempts.

“Our goal is to be in the top four of the league, which is difficult, but we will fight to achieve it,” Ali Maher said in his post-match interview.

Following the defeat to Al Ahly, Ceramica Cleopatra sit 8th in the Egyptian Premier League with 10 points from six games.

The team has one outstanding match and could climb higher if they can pick all three points from that match.
