Egyptian superstar, Mohamed Salah, has equalled the goal-scoring achievements of Swedish icon Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Ukrainian legend Andriy Shevchenko in the UEFA Champions League.

Salah reached the milestone on Wednesday night after scoring and assisting a goal to propel Liverpool to overcome Atletico Madrid 3-2 at Anfield.

With his latest goal, Salah has now scored 48 times in the Champions League, placing him in joint 12th–14th position on the tournament’s all-time top scorers list. Notably, he reached this mark in just 89 appearances, fewer than Shevchenko (100 matches) and Ibrahimovic (124 matches).

At 33, Salah continues to demonstrate his consistency and impact at the highest level. So far this season, he has recorded 3 goals and 2 assists in 6 club appearances.

With Salah set to feature in almost every Champions League game for Liverpool in the league phase of this season’s competition, he is expected to score more goals to move up on the chart.
