The Danish-Palestinian striker, Wissam Abu Ali, is set to arrive in Cairo within the next few hours for his final and crucial medical examination at a Cairo medical facility, paving the way for the official announcement of his signing with Al Ahly.
Wissam Abu Ali is expected to join Al Ahly’s training sessions the day after tomorrow, Thursday, provided he successfully passes the medical examination and arrives in Cairo without delays.
Al Ahly, one of Egypt’s premier football clubs, is gearing up to introduce Wissam Abu Ali following the completion of his second medical examination in Cairo in the coming hours, building upon the successful initial medical assessment the player underwent in Sweden over the past two days.
Amir Tawfik, Al Ahly’s Director of Contracts, provided insights into the completion of the deal with Wissam Abu Ali, marking the first signing for Al Ahly in the current winter transfer window.
Tawfik stated in an interview with Al Ahly’s channel, “We systematically worked on Wissam Abu Ali’s file within Al Ahly and the football company.
After he was nominated by the scouting committee, we presented him to the planning committee, and the technical committee approved the player’s contract after obtaining the consent of Marcel Koller, the head coach.”
Discussing the deal’s behind-the-scenes negotiations, Tawfik added, “We finalized the deal with Sirius club and officially signed the agreement.
We worked well with Wissam, sending him videos about Al Ahly because he lives in Denmark.
We also facilitated the issuance of a Palestinian passport on December 12 and negotiated with Sirius club.”
Concluding his remarks, Amir Tawfik mentioned, “We obtained a medical report from Sirius club regarding Wissam Abu Ali’s condition, and he will undergo a medical examination upon arriving in Cairo.”
Al Ahly secured Wissam Abu Ali’s signature for a duration of four and a half seasons, starting from January of the current year, for a fee of two million euros.
The amount will be paid in three installments over two years from January, with the Palestinian player earning 600,000 dollars per season.
The 24-year-old forward, who holds Palestinian nationality, will be registered as a local player in Al Ahly’s squad after the official announcement of his signing.
Wissam Abu Ali previously played for Viborg FF in the Danish league before moving to the Swedish league, featuring in 16 matches this season, scoring 10 goals and providing one assist.
