
Morocco national team goalkeeper Munir El Kajoui is confident in their preparations for the 2023 African Cup of Nations in Cote d’Ivoire, starting this weekend.
The Atlas Lions were the first team to arrive at their San Pedro base on Sunday. They had their very first training on Monday as the tournament kicks off on Saturday, January 13, 2024.
Emphasizing the team’s commitment, he stated,
“We are training rigorously to commence this edition in the optimal manner, aiming to achieve our goal.”
Speaking to the Royal Moroccan Football Federation website, Munir conveyed his satisfaction, saying,
“The truth is that everything is fine, and I am happy to be here, eagerly anticipating the start of the competition.”
He also acknowledged the anticipation from the fans, assuring them,
“We will do everything in our power to attain the title and bring joy to the hearts of the Moroccan fans.”
As the Atlas Lions find themselves in Group F of the continental competition, Munir’s remarks reflect the team’s determination to make a significant impact.
Morocco’s first group match is against Tanzania on January 17, before they take on DR Congo and Zambia in the other group phase fixtures.
