Lamine Yamal praises Hansi Flick as mentor driving his rise at Barcelona

Lamine Yamal has spoken from the heart about the role Hansi Flick plays in his journey as one of football’s brightest young stars.

At just 18, the Barcelona forward has already captured attention across Europe, and he says much of that comes down to the trust and guidance of his coach.

In an interview with Mundo Deportivo, the Ballon d’Or contender explained how Flick’s words and support have shaped his game. “Flick gives me a lot of confidence and tells me to enjoy, to be brave, and not to lose my essence of play,” Yamal shared with a smile.

Those words have allowed him to step onto the pitch with freedom, showing off his dazzling dribbles, sharp movements, and more composed finishing. Yamal described Flick as more than a coach, saying their bond feels personal. “I talk to him a lot,” he admitted. “That gives me a lot of peace of mind when it comes to going out to play.”
