Spanish outfit Cultural y Deportiva Leonesa announce signing of Mamelodi Sundowns forward Lucas Ribeiro
Spanish outfit Cultural y Deportiva Leonesa have completed the signing of Brazilian attacker Lucas Ribeiro Costa, marking a significant step in his career.
The 26-year-old attacker joins the club as a free agent after terminating his contract with Mamelodi Sundowns, bringing an end to his spell in South Africa, where he rose to prominence.
Ribeiro penned one-year deal with the Spanish outfit with an option to extend for another year and is expected to play a huge role for the lower-tier club this season.
The attacker joined Mamelodi Sundowns in 2023 from Belgian side Waasland-Beveren. During his stint with the “Brazilians,” he made 88 appearances, scored 37 goals, and delivered 23 assists, earning deep admiration and respect from the club’s fans.
Ribeiro, who has had spells in France and Belgium is now set for a new challenge in Spain, having signed for Cultural y Deportiva Leonesa.
With his wealth of experience, he is expected to play a vital role for the club, who are keen on making a meaningful impact this season.
