Ghazl El Mahalla has spoken out to clear the air about the future of their rising star, Yehia Zakaria, after reports linked him with a move to giants Al Ahly.

The club insists no official offer has been made and that they remain focused on supporting the player’s growth.

Zakaria has impressed with consistent performances in the Egyptian Premier League and was recently called to the Egyptian national team ahead of the Arab Cup, raising speculation about his next step.

A source inside El Mahalla explained to Kooora that Al Ahly’s interest in Zakaria was mentioned in earlier discussions but stressed it never went beyond inquiries.

“Mahmoud El Khatib, Al Ahly’s president, held a meeting with Walid Khalil, president of Ghazl El Mahalla Football Company, and negotiated the signing of Amr El Gazzar. He also inquired about Mohamed Ashraf and Yehia Zakaria, but he did not submit any official offers.”

“So far, we have not received any official offer to sell Yehia Zakaria. If a serious offer arrives, we will discuss it and consider the possibility of his departure.”
