Hossam Ghaly speaks from the heart on Al Ahly presidency dream
Hossam Ghaly, the former captain and now board member of Al Ahly, has shared his honest thoughts on whether he will run for the club’s presidency in the upcoming elections.
Ghaly opened up during a YouTube program, recalling how his journey in football has always been about fighting for the badge, from his playing days to his current role in the boardroom.
“I see myself as president of Al-Ahly one day, and I strive to fulfill the aspirations of the club’s fans and implement the principles and constants because I know them and was raised on them,” he said.
Still, Ghaly admitted that the politics behind the scenes can be heavy. “After entering the administrative field and seeing the world as it really is, I can say: I will not pick up a sword and shield and enter another battle now.”
“All my life I have held the sword and shield and fought from the time I was young until I retired from football. I fought in every direction.”
