AS Monaco sign Danish-Nigerian teenager Ekene Chukwuani

French Ligue 1 outfit AS Monaco have completed the signing of Danish-born attacker of Nigerian descent, Ekene Chukwuani.

The club announced the arrival of the forward in an official statement on Thursday, September 11.

In the statement, AS Monaco also indicated the signings of Belgian duo Matthias Wamu and Daryl Leunga.

“AS Monaco is pleased to announce the arrivals of Belgian midfielder Matthias Wamu, Belgian central defender Daryl Leunga Leunga, and Danish striker Ekene Chukwuani. These three young players have signed professional contracts with the Red & Whites and are joining the Academy,” the club announced.

Ekene Chukwuani, 16, is an Athletic left-footed centre forward (1m87), capable of playing on the right side of the attack.

He joins AS Monaco after excelling with Bröndby U17, where he scored no less than 25 goals in 23 matches.

He has two goals in three appearances with the Danish U17 national team. At Monaco, he will be expected to continue his development to reach his full potential.
