Coach of the Spanish national team, Luis de la Fuente, has stressed that he is confident Lamine Yamal will become the best player in the world in the coming years.

Lamine, who plays for Spain and FC Barcelona, has roots in Morocco and could have represented the Atlas Lions.

At 17, he has already led Spain to win the European Championship and is also a La Liga winner with FC Barcelona.

De la Fuente is impressed with Lamine Yamal and believes his best is yet to come.

“One is what is visible on the outside, and the other is his inner world. He is a boy who trains in the gym, works with a physiotherapist, is supervised by a nutritionist, and receives psychological support.

“We talk to each other, and I like being around him so he feels comfortable and knows we communicate openly. Lamine Yamal has the potential to become the best in the world,” the Spain coach told reporters during the September international break.

Meanwhile, Luis de la Fuente has urged the media to give more spotlight to other top players on his team, including Mikel Merino, Fabián, Dani Olmo and Pedri.
