Al Masry SC have added more strength to their squad by completing the signing of Nigerian midfielder Kingsley Eduwo on a free transfer.

The Port Said club announced the deal on Monday as they fine-tune preparations for their much-anticipated league match against rivals Zamalek.

Although the summer transfer window in Egypt has closed, Al Masry were able to bring in Idowo since he was not attached to any club. The team’s official account on X confirmed the move with a short video showing the player working out in the gym before being unveiled.

The 29-year-old has played in several countries. He started out in Nigeria with Lobi Stars before moving to CS Sfaxien in Tunisia. His career has since taken him to clubs in Iraq, the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Algeria, and Tunisia with Esperance and Club Africain.

He previously worked with current Al Masry coach Nabil Kouki at Algerian side ES Setif. Kouki’s recommendation helped secure the deal.

Al Masry lead the Egyptian League with 11 points, just one ahead of Zamalek, who they face on Saturday.
