Zamalek lawyer Dr. Kamal Shoaib denies reports of land withdrawal in October City
Zamalek’s legal advisor Dr. Kamal Shoaib stepped forward on Saturday to cool rising tension after claims that the club’s land in 6th of October City was under threat.
Supporters had been unsettled by talk of an official notice arriving earlier this week, but Shoaib insisted the White Castle has received nothing of the sort.
“As the club’s legal advisor, I would like to clarify that the club has not received any decision to withdraw the land, whether from the Ministry of Housing, the New Urban Communities Authority, or the October Gardens City Authority,” Shoaib said on his Facebook page.
He added, “As we have previously emphasized, and contrary to what was stated in the ministry’s initial statement, Zamalek has not been notified or received any notices indicating a delay in implementing the project, the expiration of its term, or the authority’s initiation of procedures to expropriate the land.”
Shoaib further explained that Zamalek initiated its own checks, securing an official postal certificate showing no such letter arrived before September 1. The only letter on record reached the club late and, he stressed, carried no legal weight.
