Egypt coach Hossam Hassan reportedly turns down Cameroon friendly over key player absences

Hossam Hassan stood tall after Egypt’s 2-0 victory over Ethiopia, reminding everyone that African football leaves no room for easy games.

The national team coach praised his players for staying composed and taking another step toward the 2026 World Cup, stressing that their eyes are already on the next test against Burkina Faso.

“We’ve taken an important step toward the World Cup,” Hassan said, as he promised fans the Pharaohs would fight until qualification is secured. For him, the joy was not only about points but also about the unity and discipline shown by his squad. Ethiopia pushed hard, yet Egypt’s dominance carried the night, even with chances left unfinished.

Hassan also spoke warmly about Mohamed Salah, insisting he would celebrate when the captain breaks his long-standing record. “Salah continues to make history, and I hope he scores a million goals for Egypt,” he said with a smile.

Looking ahead, Hassan emphasized patience and renewal. With fresh talent joining from the Olympic team, he believes Egypt’s future is bright and built on both legacy and promise.
