Bayern Munich have completed the signing of Senegal striker Nicolas Jackson on a season-long loan from Chelsea.
The 24-year-old forward will wear the number 11 shirt for the Bundesliga champions during the 2025/26 campaign.
After two standout seasons in the Premier League, Jackson now makes the move to Germany in what both clubs have described as a strategically beneficial deal.
Bayern, who continue to reinforce their attack, have secured a player known for pace, power and versatility, while Chelsea allow one of their key forwards to gain further experience at the top level of European football.
Nicolas really wanted to play for Bayern, which is why we are particularly pleased that this has come to fruition, said Max Eberl, Bayern board member for sport. He already has a lot of experience at the highest level despite his young age. He is fast, powerful, and will clearly expand our attacking palette.
Jackson began his career with Casa Sports in Senegal before moving to Spain with Villarreal, where his performances earned him a transfer to Chelsea.
Since arriving at Stamford Bridge, he has scored 30 goals in 81 appearances across all competitions, becoming one of the Blues’ most important attacking options.
He also played a key role in Chelsea’s UEFA Conference League triumph in 2024 and their FIFA Club World Cup victory in 2025.
He’s a fast player, efficient in front of goal, and can cause damage from deep, said Bayern sporting director Christoph Freund. “He will add another dimension to our attack.
For Senegal, Jackson’s progress is another moment of pride.
Capped 19 times for the national side, he has consistently represented the Lions of Teranga on the international stage and is expected to play an important role in their preparations for the 2026 Africa Cup of Nations.
Speaking after his move was confirmed, Jackson expressed his excitement at the opportunity to represent one of Europe’s most successful clubs.
I’m very happy to join this great club. Bayern is one of the best clubs in the world. I have big goals here and I’ll give everything to win titles with this team, he said.
The deal provides Jackson with the chance to test himself in a highly competitive environment, while giving Bayern another high-calibre option in attack.
For the Senegalese international, the move represents not only a significant step in his career but also a platform to further establish himself as one of Africa’s brightest footballing talents.
