Ahmad Bilal stands firm on Al Ahly’s coaching future
Ahmad Bilal, the former Al Ahly striker, has made his stance clear about the club’s next steps in a turbulent moment.
With the dismissal of Spaniard Jose Riveiro after a poor start to the Premier League, Bilal believes stability is the most important factor for the team right now.
He threw his support behind interim coach Emad El Nahhas, describing him as the right man to guide the squad. “The choice of Emad El Nahhas is very apt. He knows everything about the team during this critical period. Emad El Nahhas has proven his success with Al Ahly in his first term, and I hope the experience continues until next November.”
Bilal urged the club to wait until the international break before appointing a permanent coach, warning that big clubs cannot afford repeated failures. He was firm in his opposition to Pitso Mosimane’s return, insisting that Al Ahly should not settle for coaches from African clubs.
Turning to players, Bilal praised Ahmed Mostafa Zizo’s spirit but advised him to simplify his game for greater impact.
