2024 CHAN: Senegal cannot stop us from achieving our objective – Morocco coach Tariq Sektioui

Morocco coach Tariq Sektioui has expressed confidence that Senegal will not stand in the way of the Atlas Lions’ ambitions at the 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN).

The two teams meet tonight at the Mandela National Stadium in Kampala, with a spot in the final at stake.

“This team holds us in special esteem, and that is something that is not debatable, but we are not afraid,” Sektioui said.

“After all the efforts we have made and the exhausting travel, we cannot allow our ambitions to end here.”

Sektioui emphasized that Morocco’s goal has always been clear.

“From the start, our objective was to win the title. We are moving in the right direction, and we hope to maintain the humility that has characterised us in previous matches.”

The coach also highlighted the stakes of the encounter.

“We hope to reach the final and build on our previous successes in this tournament. With two titles already, facing Senegal—the defending champions—makes this a match of the highest significance.”
