According to information from RTS (Radio Télévision Sénégalaise), the Senegalese Minister of Sports, Malick Gackou, sustained injuries during the violence that erupted at the end of the match between the Lions of Teranga and the Elephants. Currently, the extent of Mr. Gackou’s injuries is not fully known.
The same sources report that scenes of violence are persisting at the Léopold-Sédar-Senghor stadium in Dakar. The CAN 2013 qualifiers match between Senegal and Ivory Coast was halted in the 73rd minute and ultimately abandoned due to disturbances in the stadium stands.
