Moses Simon: Nigerian Forward Extends Contract with La Gantoise

The story between Moses Simon and Belgian club KAA Gent is far from over. The Nigerian international striker has officially extended his contract with the Buffalos, keeping him at the club until 2019. This marks a significant milestone for both the player and the club, signaling confidence in his talent and commitment to Gent’s long-term ambitions. Previously, Simon’s contract was set to expire in June 2018, making this extension a key move to secure one of their brightest attacking talents.

Simon’s journey with Gent began just over a year ago when he arrived from Slovakian side Trencin. From the outset, he demonstrated his immense talent, electrifying the Belgian league with his pace, dribbling, and eye for goal. His impressive performances quickly earned him a call-up to the Nigerian national team, further highlighting his growing reputation as one of Africa’s promising forwards.

However, the start of the season was challenging for Simon. Injuries limited his game time and disrupted his rhythm, making it difficult for him to consistently showcase his abilities. Despite these setbacks, the Nigerian striker has rebounded remarkably in recent matches, returning to top form and reminding fans and critics alike of his quality on the pitch. His resilience and determination have been central to Gent’s attacking play in the latter stages of the season.

Over his time with Gent, Simon has made 44 appearances, scoring 9 goals and providing 8 assists demonstrating both his goal-scoring ability and his creative contributions. His performances have not gone unnoticed, with Gent reportedly setting a potential transfer price of **€20 million**, underlining his value and the club’s desire to retain him for the foreseeable future.

Expressing his excitement about the extension, Simon took to social media to share the news with fans: Very happy to sign my new contract with @kaagent #Committed #ProudBlue #COBW”*. The striker’s message reflects his pride in representing Gent and his eagerness to continue contributing to the club’s ambitions in domestic and European competitions.

For Gent, securing Moses Simon’s services until 2019 is a strategic move. As a player who can change the course of a game with his speed, skill, and attacking vision, Simon is a critical asset for the Buffalos. The club’s management believes that his continued presence will provide stability and quality in their forward line, supporting their goals for both league and European success.

As the Belgian league progresses, fans can look forward to seeing Simon continue to flourish at Gent, building on his current form and striving for further achievements. This contract extension is not only a reward for Simon’s perseverance and talent but also a statement from Gent that they are committed to nurturing and retaining their top players.
