Zamalek legal advisor dismisses rumours of board investigation
Zamalek’s legal advisor, Kamal Shoaib, has moved quickly to set the record straight after circulating rumours claimed that the club’s board of directors was under investigation for financial wrongdoing.
In recent days, social media pages circulated stories alleging that authorities had launched a probe into the Zamalek board on charges of profiteering and misuse of public funds. The reports went further, suggesting that a special committee from the Central Auditing Organization had already been formed to investigate criminal, administrative, and financial violations.
Shoaib firmly rejected those claims in a televised interview, stating, “The circulating wording regarding the investigation into the Zamalek board cannot have come from any investigative body, and the club has not received any official notification in this regard. Therefore, the news is incorrect.”
He also explained that while board chairman Hussein Labib and his colleagues had previously faced reports even before their time in office, no official committee has been formed to look into their activities. “The idea of forming a committee from the Central Auditing Organization is completely nonexistent,” Shoaib confirmed.
The advisor’s words were meant to ease concerns among Zamalek’s supporters.
