For Abdel Nasser Mohamed, stepping into the role of Zamalek’s football director is more than a title.

It is a chance to serve a club he deeply values while respecting its traditions.

Abdel Nasser shared in a radio interview: “John Edward, the sporting director, contacted me to be the football director. He is a dear friend of mine for a long time, and we always communicate and consult on sports matters.”

He explained that Edward’s experience gave him confidence to accept immediately, saying, “I know that Edward is an intelligent man with great vision and talent, and he has previously succeeded in forming the first teams of Pyramids and Pharco.”

Abdel Nasser stressed his mission is to continue the legacy of Zamalek icons while ensuring stability for the players. He noted that salaries will be paid monthly so players feel secure and motivated.

When asked about criticism, he was clear. “They are Zamalek stars and their opinion is respected. There are people a million times better than me, but currently it’s just a restructuring period.”
