GHANA: PATRICK AGYEMANG TO SIGN WITH BIDVEST WITS

Former Queen Park Rangers striker Patrick Agyemang has been undergoing training with South African club Bidvest Wits for several weeks and is expected to finalize a contract by the end of the week. Agyemang, who is currently without a contract, spent the last six months at the English third division club Stevenage.

Advanced discussions between the Ghanaian striker and Bidvest are reportedly taking place, with a contract signing anticipated in the coming days. Born in England but with Ghanaian roots, Patrick Agyemang has earned 2 caps with the Black Stars and has built his entire career in the English lower divisions. His professional journey includes stints at clubs such as Brentford, Gillingham, Preston North End, QPR, Bristol City, Millwall, and Stevenage.

While his notable achievements include being part of the QPR group that secured promotion to the Premier League last year, Agyemang’s time in the top-flight was limited, making only 2 appearances. He was subsequently loaned out to third division club Millwall.

If the contract with Bidvest is finalized, Patrick Agyemang could bring his wealth of experience to mentor the club’s younger players, including Calvin Kadi, Robin Ngalande, and Ryan Chapman. Currently sitting in 15th place in the South African first division championship, Bidvest Wits may not retain Nigerian Yero Bello, who was tested but reportedly did not convince the club leaders.
