**Javier Clemente Sacked as Libya Coach Following CHAN Qualifying Defeat**
Javier Clemente has been dismissed as coach of the Libyan national football team, the Libyan Football Federation confirmed on Friday.
The Spanish manager’s departure comes in the wake of Libya’s elimination from the African Nations Championship (CHAN) qualifiers, a competition reserved for players active in their domestic leagues. The White Knights of the Mediterranean suffered a heavy 4-0 defeat to Morocco, sealing their exit from the tournament.
Clemente joined the Libyan national team in September 2013, signing a two-year contract that began in October of the same year. His tenure ends after the team failed to progress in the CHAN qualifying campaign.
