**André Ayew Reflects on Marseille Departure and Leaves Door Open for Return**
Now plying his trade at Swansea City in the English Premier League, Ghanaian midfielder André Ayew has not forgotten Olympique de Marseille, the club where he made his name.
In a recent interview with French newspaper *La Provence*, Ayew opened up about his summer exit from Marseille and revealed he remains open to the possibility of returning to the Ligue 1 side.
“Before making the decision to leave, I had a long discussion with Vincent Labrune,” Ayew explained. “The decision to leave OM was made collectively, but we were all disappointed. We knew the club couldn’t keep up, especially after failing to qualify for the Champions League. Even if we had continued at the same salary, it wasn’t possible. I hear people say sacrifices had to be made, but I start from the principle that I gave a lot to OM. I was ready to continue, but everything had to come together.”
He added: “Still, I love OM, its supporters and Marseille. (…) A return? Indeed, I’m not ruling anything out at all. If everything comes together, why not?”
Ayew’s comments are likely to warm the hearts of Marseille fans, who have long admired the son of legendary Ghanaian footballer Abedi Pelé.
