**Mehdi Tahrat Called Up for Algeria Friendlies Against Senegal and Guinea**
Algerian coach Christian Gourcuff has called up Paris FC’s Mehdi Tahrat for the national team’s upcoming friendlies on October 9 and 13. The 25-year-old defender, who has impressed this season playing both as a central defender and defensive midfielder, joined the training camp in Algiers.
Tahrat said he has not yet been told by Gourcuff which position he will play but is fully at the coach’s disposal. He adapted well to his new role as a holding midfielder after playing mostly as a center-back last season when Paris FC achieved promotion to Ligue 2.
With some central defenders like Rafik Halliche, Essaid Belkalem, and Aissa Mandi unavailable, Gourcuff is relying on Tahrat to help fill the defensive gaps.
