Raja Club Athletic have officially secured the services of promising defender Mouad Dahak on a one-season loan from Ittihad Touarga, a move that has now been explained in detail by the leadership of the Moroccan top-flight club.
A senior figure within Ittihad Touarga outlined the rationale behind the decision, revealing that the club had turned down several lucrative transfer offers in favour of a loan arrangement with Raja.
We received several offers this summer from Saudi Arabia, France, Russia, and Greece. The highest bid was €1 million, but we declined them all. We believe Dahak’s talent is worth far more than these amounts, the official disclosed.
Touarga’s management views Raja as the ideal platform for Dahak’s development and global exposure, citing the Casablanca-based club’s domestic and continental prestige.
A loan to Raja seems to us to be the most sensible option. Raja’s reputation, in Morocco, on the African continent, and even globally, provides an ideal showcase for Mouad Dahak. We believe this step will be decisive in promoting the player ahead of the U20 World Cup in Chile, the official added.
Dahak, who is regarded as one of Morocco’s most promising young defenders, is expected to flourish under the spotlight at Raja.
The club’s management believes that consistent playing time at such a competitive level will allow him to demonstrate his full capabilities.
