West Ham United advancing in talks for the signing of Senegal star Idrissa Gueye

West Ham United are progressing in talks for the acquisition of Senegal international Idrissa Gana Gueye in the ongoing summer transfer window.

Gueye enjoyed a breakthrough season with Metz in Ligue 2 last season, helping the club to secure promotion to the top-flight.

The centre-forward netted five goals and registered one assist in 20 appearances in the league.

His outstanding performance did not go unnoticed, with the Senegal youngster attracting interest from several clubs in Europe.

According to reports, Manchester United and Borussia Dortmund are in the race to sign the forward, as well as unnamed Premier League clubs.

West Ham are desperate to win the race to sign Gueye and have entered into talks with Metz in order to conclude a deal.

The Hammers’ talks with the Senegalese are proceeding well. Metz are aware of losing the attacker this summer and has therefore set a price tag of €15m for the transfer of the striker this summer.

West Ham are now preparing a new offer to get the deal done before the start of the upcoming campaign.
