Stoke City close in on RS Berkane midfielder Lamine Camara
Stoke City are on the verge of completing the signing of highly-rated RS Berkane midfielder Lamine Camara, following a swift agreement between the two clubs during the ongoing summer transfer window.
Camara, who enjoyed a stellar 2024–25 season in Morocco, featured in 25 league matches for RS Berkane, alongside nine appearances in the CAF Confederation Cup and one in the Moroccan Throne Cup.
The Senegal international has already arrived in England to undergo his medical assessment ahead of finalising a reported four-year deal with the EFL Championship club.
RS Berkane are seeking a transfer fee in the region of €4–5 million — a figure that would rank among the most lucrative deals in the club’s history. Despite his estimated market value of €1.4 million on Transfermarkt, Camara’s recent performances have significantly boosted his profile.
The 25-year-old played a key role in RS Berkane’s domestic and continental triumphs last season, helping them secure both the Botola Pro title and the CAF Confederation Cup.
His contributions earned him the accolade of Best Foreign Player in the Moroccan top flight for 2024–25.
Camara has risen through the ranks of Senegalese football, having represented the national team at U17, U20, and U23 levels before earning a call-up to the senior side.
His progress has attracted interest from several European clubs, including Crystal Palace, Fenerbahçe, Atlético Madrid, Villarreal, Udinese, and Bologna.
Should the deal be finalised, Camara will become one of Stoke City’s standout signings as they aim to strengthen their squad ahead of the new campaign.
