TUNISIAN CUP: ÉTOILE DU SAHEL CROWNED AFTER THRILLING FINAL AGAINST STADE GABESIEN
Étoile du Sahel lifted the Tunisian Cup on Saturday after a dramatic 4-3 victory over Stade Gabesien, claiming their third consecutive cup title and 10th overall in the competition’s history.
Faouzi Benzarti’s men got off to a shaky start, conceding two early goals in the 3rd and 24th minutes. But the team found their rhythm before halftime, pulling one back through Alkhalil Bangoura (38′), before Baghdad Bounedjah equalized just four minutes later (42’).
Despite a goal from Saad Bguir (61’) that gave Stade Gabesien the lead again, Bounedjah responded in style, completing his hat-trick to lead Étoile to a memorable comeback.
This hard-fought victory reinforces Étoile du Sahel’s dominance in Tunisian football and highlights Bounedjah’s status as a key figure in the team’s attacking force.
