Claude Leroy, the coach of the Congo Leopards, opted not to officially release his squad for the return match against Equatorial Guinea immediately. The anticipation among the Congolese sports public was high, and the official list was revealed only after the arrival of players from abroad and the initial training session of the Leopards for the upcoming decisive match in the CAN 2013 qualifiers.
Following the training session, it was observed that three new players had been added to the squad, all from the under-20 selection: goalkeeper Bakala and midfielders Luvumbu and Mulenda wa Kalenda. Leroy maintained the core of the team that played in the first leg. The highlight of the squad is the presence of Dieumerci Mbokani, the Anderlecht striker. The only notable absence is Alin Kaluyituka Dioko, the Al Ahly Qatar striker.
Having secured a convincing 4-0 victory in the first leg at home, Congo is in a favorable position for qualification for CAN 2013.
