Zamalek are carefully managing their squad fitness as they gear up for the new season, with two key players missing from Wednesday’s group session in the New Administrative Capital.
Goalkeeper Mohamed Awad and defender Salah Musaddiq were both absent from team training due to injury concerns, according to medical staff within the club.
A source at the White Castle told Kooora, “Mohamed Awad complained of back pain, and this isn’t the first time. He will undergo a rehabilitation program to prepare him to participate in group training.”
Awad’s recurring issue has led the medical team to prioritize his recovery with a tailored plan. Meanwhile, Musaddiq is also being monitored closely after suffering muscle fatigue. He is following a separate rehab routine aimed at easing him back into full sessions.
With a friendly match against Wadi Degla scheduled for Friday and the pre-season camp ending on July 27, Zamalek’s staff are focusing on getting their full squad match-ready without risking further injury setbacks.
The club remains optimistic both players will return soon.
