Borussia Dortmund have set their sights on signing Senegalese striker Idrissa Gueye this summer.
The German Bundesliga club have been monitoring the teenager for a while and wants to recruit him as an investment for the future.
The 18-year-old, currently with French side FC Metz, has emerged as one of the most exciting young forwards in European football.
Gueye joined Metz just months ago from Senegalese partner club Génération Foot, but could already be on the move again after attracting strong interest from across Europe.
According to French outlet L’Équipe, Dortmund have been monitoring the teenager’s progress and are among several clubs keen on securing his signature. English Premier League sides Manchester United, West Ham United, Wolverhampton Wanderers, and Championship club Southampton are all said to be tracking him. Italian outfit Parma, currently in Serie B, are also reportedly in the race.
Despite his youth, Gueye made an impressive impact in Ligue 2 last season, scoring five goals in 17 appearances and clocking over 1,100 minutes. Known for his physicality and agility, he has already shown flashes of a mature and clinical striker.
Metz are open to a sale this summer as they seek to raise transfer funds, with the club valuing Gueye at around €15 million. The forward is currently under contract until 2029, which puts Metz in a strong negotiating position.
Adding to his growing reputation, Gueye made his senior debut for Senegal in September 2023 at the age of 16.
He is reportedly open to a move this summer and will welcome a switch to Borussia Dortmund.
