Denis Bouanga Earns First Call-Up to Gabon National Team
While Gabon has yet to officially announce its squad for the upcoming 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Sudan and a friendly against Zambia in September, one exciting development has already emerged—Denis Bouanga is set to make his international debut.
French Ligue 1 side FC Lorient revealed the news on Thursday via their official Twitter account:
“Denis Bouanga (@BouangaDenis) has been called up for the first time with the Gabon national team. Congratulations Denis!”
The 20-year-old winger, born in France but of Gabonese descent, has impressed with his performances at Lorient and now has the opportunity to represent Les Panthères at the senior level. Bouanga’s inclusion marks a fresh addition to Gabon’s attacking options as they prepare for crucial fixtures this September.
