Cheibane Traoré Joins Renaissance de Berkane on Three-Year Deal
Malian international Cheibane Traoré has officially completed his move to Moroccan side Renaissance de Berkane, bringing an end to a protracted transfer saga.
The 24-year-old striker, who spent five seasons with Congolese giants TP Mazembe, has signed a three-year contract with the Botola Pro club. His transfer marks a significant acquisition for Renaissance de Berkane, as the club looks to bolster its attacking options ahead of the upcoming campaign.
Traoré had previously given his verbal agreement to the move several weeks ago, but the formalities took longer to finalise due to his existing contract with TP Mazembe. Negotiations between the two clubs were reportedly complex, with Berkane having to navigate a challenging transfer process to secure the forward’s release.
The Malian leaves TP Mazembe having made a notable impact at the club, where he contributed to several domestic and continental successes. His move to Morocco represents a new chapter in his career as he seeks to establish himself in the competitive North African football scene.
Renaissance de Berkane, known for their growing ambition on the African stage, will be hoping Traoré’s experience and goal-scoring prowess can help them contend for both domestic and continental honours.
