Queens Park Rangers in advanced talks to sign Senegal forward Pape Meïssa Ba from Schalke 04

Queens Park Rangers are closing in on the acquisition of Senegal attacker Pape Meïssa Ba in the ongoing summer transfer window.

The English Championship outfit are keen on augmenting their squad for the 2025/26 football campaign, with the Schalke 04 attacker set to join the club.

With talks between Schalke 04 and QPR advancing, the 27-year-old forward is expected to join the English outfit in the coming days.

The Senegalese striker left Grenoble Foot 38 in January after finishing the first half of the Ligue 2 season as top scorer. He made the switch to Bundesliga 2 outfit Schalke 04, but could now be on the move again just six months later.

Ba’s representatives are in close contact with QPR, who appointed former Rennes and Strasbourg manager Julien Stéphan last month as head coach.

A product of AS Dakar Sacré-Cœur, Ba has previously featured for ESTAC Troyes and Paris suburb side Red Star FC (where he was top scorer in the French third tier) before making his mark in Ligue 2 with Grenoble, where he scored 13 goals in 18 matches during the first half of the 2023/24 campaign.
