AS Roma Interested in Mamadou Sakho as Defensive Reinforcement
Still under contract with Liverpool FC until June 2017, French international Mamadou Sakho could be on the move before the close of the transfer window. According to Calciomercato, AS Roma has shown interest in the Senegalese-born defender as they seek to bolster their backline.
The Serie A club is reportedly in discussions with Olympique Lyonnais regarding Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa, but in anticipation of a potential breakdown in negotiations, they are actively exploring alternative options — with Sakho emerging as a prime target.
Sakho, who joined Liverpool in 2013 from Paris Saint-Germain, has struggled to consistently earn a starting role at Anfield. A move to the Italian capital could provide the 25-year-old with a fresh start and more regular playing time, which would be crucial for regaining form and confidence ahead of Euro 2016.
