The head coach of South Africa, Desiree Ellis, is geared up ahead of the clash against Nigeria in the semi-final of the 2024 CAF Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).

After weeks of exciting action in Morocco, the 2024 WAFCON is getting closer to the final.

The Banyana Banyana will face off with the Super Falcons on Tuesday, July 22, to fight for a place in the final of the tournament.

Ahead of the showdown between the two favourites, Coach Desiree Ellis is looking forward to a fierce battle.

Speaking in an interview, the coach said her team knows what is at stake heading into the game against the Super Falcons.

“There’s a fire, a collective memory. We know what this match means.” Ellis insisted, as quoted on CAFOnline.

In the other semi-final match at the 2024 WAFCON, Ghana will take on host nation Morocco.

All the semi-final matches will be played on Tuesday.
