Al Ahly’s general coach, Emad Al-Nahhas, evoked the club’s rich legacy from 1929 as he celebrated a spirited 4-1 win over Stade Tunisien in Tabarka.
The Monday evening friendly was the team’s first test in their pre-season training camp ahead of the 2025-26 campaign.
Al-Nahhas was pleased with the energy and unity shown by the squad, highlighting how every player contributed to what he described as a “powerful and beneficial experience.”
“The two most important things today are the players’ commitment to implementing the technical staff’s instructions and avoiding injuries. We also made sure to distribute the effort among the players to include as many of them as possible during the match. There is no doubt that performance will gradually improve in the upcoming matches, and that is our goal,” Al-Nahhas noted.
He believes the win provides a strong mental lift for the team and that head coach José Ribeiro will assess both the positives and areas for improvement as they continue to build.
Al Ahly’s encounter with Stade Tunisien marks the beginning of their preparation in Tunisia.
