U-23 AFCON Qualifiers: Algeria to Host Sierra Leone in Blida Amid Ebola Concerns
In the third and final first-leg round of the Under-23 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers, Algeria will face Sierra Leone, who previously caused an upset by eliminating Cameroon. The match is set to be held at the Mustapha Tchaker Stadium in Blida.
Libyan referee Wahid Tamuni Salah will officiate the match, assisted by compatriots Attia Amsaâd and Salah El Shudgi.
Due to ongoing Ebola-related health concerns in Sierra Leone, both legs of the tie will be played in Algeria. The return match is also scheduled for Blida, on Saturday, July 25 at 8:45 p.m., and will be officiated by a Senegalese trio led by Daouda Gueye, with Serigne Cheikh Toure and El Hadji Abdulaziz Gueye as assistants.
The final tournament of the U-23 Africa Cup of Nations will take place from December 5 to 19 in Senegal. The top three teams from this competition will earn a spot to represent Africa at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro.
